For 40 years, THE CHILD’SWORLD – A GROWING CENTER, INC. (TCWAGCI) has provided a school environment that sees the world through the eyes of a child. Whether that child be a regular student or a child or adult with special needs, TCWAGCI remains a second home for children to explore the world and enjoy learning, to grow and become small but colorful, shining lights in the world.
In 1982, Ms. Evelyn Mendoza Tan realized her dream of starting a school, committed to providing quality academic innovation and integration with a strong family focus.The aim was to provide a positive first-time learning experience within a loving but disciplined environment, which will establish a positive foundation for a child’s experience with learning and school.
“What a journey it has been…” as the song goes. Indeed, we have all gone through a lot these past four decades.
Personally, I have lost our elder son Jay, husband John Tan, and dear parents, Dr. Julian Mendoza and Digna Medina-Mendoza. Now, with my only other son Karl, somehow life does not feel so empty with all of you in our larger family that is The Child’s World!
We would not have been able to carry on in pursuit of our dreams without each other. So to all of you, thank you so very much for always being there with us these 40 years. Together, let us continue empowering our special children to be “the best they can be!”
